One of our clients just wrote me about this. They lost $30,000 to computer hackers.
"One of our people received an email that appeared to be legit. When it was opened it put a virus onto that computer which allowed them to obtain that persons login and password to Comdata. They then obtained comcheck transaction codes, all for under $1,000 to avoid suspicion, until our available balance was depleted"
Its crucial that PC users are educated to think twice before they click on any email attachment. Its also very important that users aren't logged in with administrator rights. And, never ever store your passwords for your Comdata or bank account on your computer.
Of course, Network security is crucial. You should have all the latest windows updates installed, and up-to-date anti-virus software and anti-ad software and a firewall.
